Anyone who has been involved with their GAA Club knows the difference that good leadership makes.   

The CGAA is pleased to offer its Officer Training Webinar Series again in 2022 to help develop the skill set within individual roles on committees and other club members who are interested in one day holding the roles.  Understanding what your role entails makes you a more effective Club executive member improves your leadership abilities in your role.   

The courses will be offered on the following dates and registration is through the online form.

Saturday, February 26: JustGo Training (formerly GoMembership)This session will provide an overview of what Clubs need to know to help their members register through the JustGo system and other Club administration functions.  Target audience: Club Registrars and Secretaries 

Sunday, March 6: Planning & Training/ Development Officer Training– Creating a club development plan, Coach and Referee education – what’s involved and the process to host a course. Target audience: Planning and Training/Development Officers, Chairperson 

Saturday, March 12: Chairperson Training A new offering this year, the course will provide information on good Club governance, delegation, and other skills important to keeping your local GAA Club a going concern.  Target audience: Chairperson, Vice-Chair 

Saturday, March 19: PRO Training – Role of the Public Relations Officer, best practices, tips and tricks on social media and promoting your Club. Target audience: Public Relations Officers, anyone else who supports your Club’s social media and promotional efforts 

March 26: Secretary Training – Role of the Secretary, key administrative duties that enable the Club to function effectively including sanctions and transfers Target audience: Club and divisional secretaries 

Saturday, April 2: Child Protection and Health and Wellness Training – What needs to be done to ensure children, youth, and vulnerable adults are protected while playing GAA sports.  The session will also cover concussion awareness and the importance of receiving training.  Target audience: Child Protection Officers, Coaches 

Saturday, April 9: Treasurer Training – Role of the treasurer, how to ensure that Club’s financial assets are handled in a responsible and transparent manner, and financial reporting. Target audience: Treasurer, Chairperson
