Notice of Meeting: Canadian Gaelic Athletic Association Annual Convention 2024

The Canadian Gaelic Athletic Association hereby announces its Annual Convention 2024, to be held in Ottawa, Ontario. The Convention serves as the primary policy and decision-making forum for Gaelic games in Canada. This year’s event has been expanded to include professional development workshops and diplomatic engagements.

18:00-20:00 – Official Reception at the Ambassador’s Residence
20:30 – Convention Dinner (Venue to be confirmed)

12:00-15:00 – Annual General Meeting
Post-Convention Reception at St Bridgid’s Well

Voting Entitlements

The following are entitled to vote at the Annual Convention:

All outgoing members of the County Committee
Two named delegates from each affiliated club (attendance required)
One named delegate from each Divisional Committee (attendance required)
Clubs affiliated at Minor Grade only are entitled to two voting delegates
Proxy voting is not permitted

Club Development Programme

The Convention features an extensive club development programme, including:

Strategic planning workshops
Administrative best practices sessions
Club governance seminars
Networking opportunities with GAA officials from across Canada

Official Functions

Delegates are invited to attend:

Reception hosted by His Excellency John Concannon, Ambassador of Ireland to Canada
Convention dinner and social functions
Professional development workshops conducted by Ulster GAA representatives

Additional Information

Delegate materials and O’Neills promotional items will be provided at registration
Luncheon and refreshments will be served on both days
