The CGAA is launching an Officer Leadership Training Webinar Series on January 30th, 2021. We are delighted to be able to offer this support over the coming months and it is important that our Clubs and Divisions avail of this leadership volunteer development opportunity.
Based on positive feedback from the 2019 County Convention Officer training day and from feedback from across the county we recognize the importance of ensuring there is education and support in place for volunteers on an annual basis. These training webinars will be hugely beneficial for everyone involved.
Sessions will be run every three weeks on Saturdays at 1:00 pm EST (to be able to accommodate 5 time zones in Canada!). While the topics are specific to certain roles (ie. Treasurer, Secretary, PRO, etc) we encourage and welcome officers in other roles to attend sessions on other topics as well. For example, Chairpersons and Secretaries are welcome and encouraged to attend the Treasurer webinar as it’s important that all officers understand the roles and responsibilities of their colleagues. - January 30 @ 1:00pm EST: Treasurer Training
Role of the treasurer, financial management, budgeting and reporting.
Treasurers plus other officer including Chairperson and Secretary - February 20 @ 1:00pm EST: Child Protection and Health & Wellness Training
Concussion guidelines (new provincial laws), review of CP Policies and job of CPO, Abuse policies, Codes of Conduct. Development Officer, Child Protection Officer, Health & Wellness Officer, Coaches, Referees. Officers in any role are encouraged to attend any topic even if it’s not your primary role on the committee. - March 6 @ 1:00pm EST: PRO Training
Role of the Public Relations Officer, best practices, tips and tricks on social media and promoting the club - March 27 @ 1:00pm EST: Secretary Training
Role of the Secretary, key administrative duties that enable the Club to function effectively including sanctions, transfers, player registration on GAA Management System (formerly Servasport) - April 17: @ 1:00pm EST: Development Officer Training
Creating a club development plan, Coach and Referee education (what’s involved and the process to host a course)
