The Edmonton Wolfe Tones will be showcasing Hurling to teams at the Kinesiology Games (Kin Games). Participating students will learn and play Hurling as part of the tournament, which is being run over two days. The KIN Games is an annual interscholastic conference and competition involving post-secondary institutions across Canada for undergraduate students in the field of kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, or equivalent programs. Since its inception in 2001, Kin Games has been hosted by 16 unique post-secondary institutions in 7 provinces with an attendance of over 800 students in 2017. Attending teams compete in four categories that represent the four pillars of Kin Games: Athletics, Academics, Dance and Spirit.
All Sport One City is an event created to showcase sports all over the city of Calgary. These sessions are free of charge, and are a great way to introduce a new sport to people.
The McNamara Cup is Vancouver Island’s signature tournament, typically held as a part of the Victoria Highland Games on May long weekend each year. The Highland Games have been significantly scaled back this year as a result of COVID-19, so the Rovers are going solo!
The format for the tournament will be a sevens competition in both men’s and ladies Gaelic football. Due to short notice and COVID-19, the tournament will only be open to BC and Alberta teams this year.
The tenth annual Mike Robinson Tournament (MRT), a coed, recreational Gaelic football tournament for Senior players, youth and this year coed Camogie will be a feature. The funds raised from this event will go towards a canoe trip, which Mike used to take with students from Philomen Wright High School in Hull, QC. It has gone on since he passed away due to the dedication of his coworkers. It is a gift to be able to have students still paddling due to Mike’s vision.
