Below please find a list of items for your review and consideration, which are to be included in your proposal to host the 2017 Canadian National Gaelic Games Competition.

In your proposal, you must include an explanation, how you plan to accommodate and/or supply each item.

FIELDS

3 fields, to accommodate (Minimum 9 a Side) Camogie, Hurling and Football  Flags for all field markings, flags for linespersons and umpires. 

Two team benches on each field

The playing area on all fields must be cordoned off, all fields to be clearly marked as per the field dimensions set out in the GAA 2017 Official Guide

HOTELS

Minimum of xx rooms at reasonable prices to be sourced and held on a group booking basis

Complimentary rooms to be included in group booking to accommodate travelling dignitaries, guests and officials.

BUSES

Organize buses for the entire event, from hotels to fields, and return to hotels. Schedule for buses must be posted at every hotel and at every field.

TOILET FACILITIES

A minimum of 2 toilets must be available at every field

PROMOTION

Designate a person to provide information and updates for the CGAA Website. This information is to be supplied to the CGAA PRO/Secretary.

REFEREES

Host Committee must provide minimum of 6 referees for the event, all properly attired. Names, cell phone numbers, days available and qualifications must be submitted to the CGAA 3 weeks prior to the event.

LINESMEN & UMPIRES

Host Committee must provide umpires & linesmen for first games on each field each day, all properly attired.

FIELD MARSHALLS

Host Committee is required to designate Field Marshals for each field for the entire event. Host Committee will have a Designated Individual whose duties will be to supervise and oversee all other Field Marshals, duties and responsibilities will be submitted to all Field Marshals by the Designated Individual.

Field Marshals must be properly attired with easily identifiable Field Marshal Color Coded shirt/vest.

WATER

Cold water must be provided at each field, in case of extreme heat there should be provisions made for additional water, water coolers must be refilled as needed. Mist tent to be provided if extreme heat is predicted

DIGNITARIES

  CGAA Secretary will co-ordinate all Croke Park dignitary accommodation and travel itineraries, and the CGAA secretary will submit accommodation and travel itineraries to Host Committee secretary, who will be responsible for the organizing of arrival & departure pickups from airport and hotels.

  CGAA will provide dinner for the Host Committee, invited guests and dignitaries, the CGAA will decide on dress code, time and location, the CGAA will also be responsible for forwarding invitations to Host Committee, guests and dignitaries by email. 

CONCESSIONS

 Refreshments must be available throughout the event.

MEDICAL/FIRST AID

Fully stocked & staffed medical tent is mandatory throughout the entire event

Medical records must be provided to the CGAA for each incident that requires medical attention.

Host Committee to provide a list of area hospitals with directions

AWARDS PRESENTATION

 Host Committee to organise an Awards Presentation/Banquet, time and place to be determined by the Host Committee.

FINAL REPORT

Host Committee to submit a final report to the CGAA, including financials within 30 day after the event

BUDGET

Host Committee is required to submit a budget/funding plan to the CGAA Secretary with this proposal.

CGAA RESPONSIBILITIES

The CGAA Committee will be responsible for the following:

  • Overseeing the organizing of the event
  • Ordering trophies and medals, and payment of same
  • Preparing and approving the event Playing Rules & Regulations
  • Confirming player eligibility
  • Scheduling of games
  • Scheduling referees
  • Scrutinising all completed referee reports
  • Handling of all disciplinary matters
  • Updating score board
  • Organise trophy and medal presentations
  • Providing feedback from clubs after the event, and
  • Arrange a debriefing meeting with the Divisional Committee and Host Committee.

OUR MISSION AND VISION

To promote Gaelic Games across Canada with the view to increasing the number of participants playing Gaelic Games in all Codes and Grades, with the support of, and in collaboration with Divisional Committees and Clubs.
