As part of the CGAA Convention weekend we are hosting a Club Development Day on Saturday, December 7th where Club representatives can participate in interactive workshop sessions. We are still finalizing the details around the workshops with the Ulster Council and will update the event description as soon as it’s available.
The workshops will commence at 11:00am on Saturday which provides sufficient travel time for those who are planning on flying or driving to Montreal on Saturday morning. For those who will fly in Friday, we’ll plan a social event Friday night and again on the Saturday night.
We are pleased to confirm we will have a number of representatives from Ireland joining our weekend including:
– Oliver Galligan, Chairperson and Brian McAvoy, Secretary Ulster GAA
– Representative from Ladies Gaelic Football
Clubs are encouraged to have a minimum of 2 representatives attend the Club Development day in person. The CGAA will provide a travel subsidy in the form of providing accommodation for the Friday and Saturday nights at the Best Western Ville Marie where the event is being held. Each club will be provided with one room for 2 nights (based on double occupancy).

The CGAA annual Convention represents one of the most significant opportunities for our members across Canada to come together to network with peers and debate policy issues that are of significant importance to the Association and its members.
The Convention also provides an opportunity for members to learn about the Association, debate policy resolutions, and formulate the CGAA’s annual advocacy strategies for the year ahead. Secretarial and annual financial reports are also received by the Membership at the Convention.
We are pleased to confirm we will have a number of representatives from Ireland joining our weekend including:

The McNamara Cup is Vancouver Island’s signature tournament, typically held as a part of the Victoria Highland Games on May long weekend each year. The Highland Games have been significantly scaled back this year as a result of COVID-19, so the Rovers are going solo!
The format for the tournament will be a sevens competition in both men’s and ladies Gaelic football. Due to short notice and COVID-19, the tournament will only be open to BC and Alberta teams this year.
