The Canadian County Board invites you to “Camogie Development Week in Canada.”

Join us in Toronto, Sunday, December 1st, from 9am-6pm. Venue TBA.

Following the Camogie All Stars game in New York the weekend of Nov 24- 25th, we will have Niall Williams, Coach Education and Development Coordinator at the Camogie Association, here to deliver certified Coach Education and Referee workshops. This is a unique opportunity to upskill our coaches and volunteers by a qualified tutor from Ireland.

Ottawa Gaels Youth Awards Night 2019 @ Kanata Beaverbrook Community Centre

The snow might be on the ground already, but we still want to celebrate the continued development of Gaelic Football in Ottawa and also acknowledge the achievements of our athletes.

With this in mind, we want to invite your family to the 2019 Youth Awards and Dinner.

Cost: FREE

This promises to be a great social event and we will have some interactive games for the players.

Come join us for a couple hours of fun and food as we remember the good times we had playing Gaelic in 2019….

Please RSVP whether you are able to attend and how many people/mouths you are bringing so we can plan accordingly. Last minute drop-ins are always welcome

As part of the CGAA Convention weekend we are hosting a Club Development Day on Saturday, December 7th where Club representatives can participate in interactive workshop sessions. We are still finalizing the details around the workshops with the Ulster Council and will update the event description as soon as it’s available.

The workshops will commence at 11:00am on Saturday which provides sufficient travel time for those who are planning on flying or driving to Montreal on Saturday morning. For those who will fly in Friday, we’ll plan a social event Friday night and again on the Saturday night.

We are pleased to confirm we will have a number of representatives from Ireland joining our weekend including:
– Oliver Galligan, Chairperson and Brian McAvoy, Secretary Ulster GAA
– Representative from Ladies Gaelic Football

Clubs are encouraged to have a minimum of 2 representatives attend the Club Development day in person. The CGAA will provide a travel subsidy in the form of providing accommodation for the Friday and Saturday nights at the Best Western Ville Marie where the event is being held. Each club will be provided with one room for 2 nights (based on double occupancy).

The CGAA annual Convention represents one of the most significant opportunities for our members across Canada to come together to network with peers and debate policy issues that are of significant importance to the Association and its members.

The Convention also provides an opportunity for members to learn about the Association, debate policy resolutions, and formulate the CGAA’s annual advocacy strategies for the year ahead. Secretarial and annual financial reports are also received by the Membership at the Convention.

Deck yourselves out in your fave ugly Christmas sweaters and join us for our Ottawa Gaels Christmas social at the Heart and Crown (Peter Devine’s) Byward Market!

On December 14th, from 2-5pm, enjoy a festive evening with friends, featuring free food, prizes for top sweaters, and great craic. All are encouraged to wear their Christmas sweaters and to bring in non perishables for the Ottawa food bank.

This is a family friendly event, kids and Gaels youth are welcome!

Ottawa Gaels Winter Recreational Superleague

2020 is our year to get active, get fit, and have fun!
Whether you’re a seasoned Gaelic football player, or have never played before, all are welcome to participate in our 8 week Ladies Superleague!

Our 8 week $65 program of Gaelic Football includes: a quick introduction to the rules/skills of the game for new players, followed by a weekly league with assigned teams, team captains, jerseys, schedule etc.

Looking to give Gaelic Football a try but not sure what to bring? No additional equipment required! Just bring yourself, a water bottle, comfortable clothing, and running shoes! We will be playing on an artificial turf field; plastic soccer cleats are also appropriate.

Ottawa Gaels: Foundation Award Coaching Course @ Stephen Leacock School

The Ottawa Gaels will be running a Foundation Award Coaching Course.

The Foundation Award is the introductory award for coaches of Gaelic Games. The course is aimed at beginner coaches and will enable participants to assist a coach in the organisation of activities to develop hurling or football.

The course is seven and a half hours in duration and covers four key modules, as well as introductory and conclusion modules. These four modules are:

Introduction to Games
Skill Development
Movement Skills
Coaching Children, Youths and Adults
